Rick Sager, CPA
Founder

Rick founded Sager CPAs & Advisors in 2011. As a talented synergist, his strength lies in bringing good people together to do great things. By providing the tools, resources, and answers necessary to help everyone achieve their goals, he helps clients save money and better understand their finances. Nothing makes Rick prouder than hearing our clients say, “That was easy!”

A graduate from Idaho State University, earning a BBA in Business Management with an emphasis in HR, Rick enjoys spending time with his wife and childhood sweetheart Annie and their children. He coaches youth football and is often seen riding an ATV through our beautiful mountains.
Alisha Gearhart
Firm Director

Alisha was hired as our firm director in November 2021. Bringing 25 years of office and financial institution experience to Sager CPAs & Advisors, she is an expert at training, workflow, project management, billing, HR functions and so much more. Alisha is our resident problem solver and a sounding board for anyone who has an idea they need to bounce off a keen ear. She is driven to help our clients and her teammates succeed.

Alisha graduated from BYU-Idaho with an Associates Degree in Administrative Assistant/Office Manager. She enjoys good times with her family, playing the piano at church, and crocheting gifts.
Nathan Yorgason
Tax Director

Nathan joined our team as an Accountant In Charge (AIC) in January 2019. As a former business owner, he understands the importance of managing financial processes with an eye to accuracy and compliance. As a tax director, he enjoys keeping up with the tax code to help individual and business clients achieve tax efficiency.

Along with overseeing financial statement analysis, managing audits, and ensuring compliance, Nathan guides clients to improve budgeting and forecasting, and make smarter data-based decisions. By designing and implementing internal controls, he helps safeguard client assets and financial information.

Nathan graduated from BYU-Idaho with a bachelors in Accounting. When not working, he is playing games, watching sports, or on an outdoor adventure with his growing family!
Karson Maughan
Tax Advisor

Karson joined our team as a tax advisor in August 2023. Tasked with preparing tax returns, creating tax plans, and developing tax forecasts throughout the year, he works closely with clients to ensure accuracy. His favorite aspect of the work he does is alleviating the stress of taxes for clients, helping people to understand how their taxes work and implementing strategies for increasing their post-tax net worth.

Karson graduated in 2023 with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, following a tax season internship earlier that year. He enjoys playing and watching basketball, baseball, football, volleyball, and pickleball, along with being outdoors to camp, hike, fish or go boating.

Accounting Service Team

Jessica joined our bookkeeping services team in September 2021 as the next step following a career in customer service and management. Passionate about being a lifelong learner, working as a staff accountant is an ideal match, as there are new things to learn every day. She loves working with people and being of service to both her colleagues and clients. In her free time, Jessica enjoys cleaning and spending quality time with her grandchildren.

Jessica Krumsick

Staff Accountant

Jessica joined our firm in November 2023 as a staff accountant following a 16-year career as a full charge bookkeeper for Telanswer, Inc. She likes working with numbers, which makes running payroll and paying payroll taxes for clients a perfect fit.

Jessica’s 15-year-old twins keep her busy, but not so busy to keep her off the soccer field or working in her yard on sunny days. She also throws darts, plays foosball, and is a certified puzzle nerd. Jessica is very happy to be on our team and truly enjoys the people she works with.

A problem solver at heart, Jess joined our team in January 2024. She brings a passion for customer service and over a decade of experience assisting clients with questions and concerns. When you need help, Jess will be there to answer your call or email. No matter what your issue, she can put the pieces of the puzzle together and get your problem resolved!

An animal lover, Jess’s family of two cares for five permanent fur babies along with foster kittens and puppies from Lake Lowell Animal Rescue. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family or playing D&D.

Kim Rieff

Service Specialists

She joined our team in 2024 and quickly became the warm, welcoming face at our front desk. With over 26 years of customer service experience, Kim brings a friendly and professional touch to every client interaction. Her role allows her to connect closely with our clients and team members, handling calls and coordinating appointments to ensure everyone’s experience is smooth and efficient.

Outside of work, Kim loves spending time outdoors. Whether she's hiking, biking, or simply soaking up the beauty of nature, she makes the most of her time outside. A fan of strength training, she also stays active and energized. Kim is devoted to her family and cherishes time with her husband, her two wonderful children, Matt and Nicole, and their family dog, Coco.

Kathryn Young

Tax Advisor

Kathryn joined our team in 2025 as a Tax Advisor with a passion for helping clients make sense of their numbers. With a degree in Accounting from BYU–Idaho, she supports our clients by preparing accurate tax returns and ensuring financial records are clean, organized, and tax-ready. Her attention to detail and love for structure shine through in every project she touches.

Kathryn thrives on the satisfaction that comes from bringing order to financial documents. She enjoys working with numbers and transforming raw data into useful insights that help clients feel prepared and confident. Her calm presence and methodical approach make her a trusted part of the team during even the busiest tax season.

Outside of the office, Kathryn enjoys gathering with family and friends - especially when there's a pickleball or tennis racquet involved. She finds joy in the great outdoors and cherishes watching her husband and boys play basketball together.

Meshelle Christensen

Client Service Representative

Meshelle joined our team in 2025 as a Client Service Representative, bringing years of experience in customer service and a true gift for hospitality. She’s often the first point of contact for our clients, and she takes that role to heart - answering questions, listening closely, and ensuring every interaction is warm, helpful, and welcoming.

With an associate’s degree in Behavioral Sciences from Utah Valley University and a background in retail, healthcare, and legal offices, Meshelle has built her career on genuine connection. She loves making people feel seen, heard, and cared for, whether it's over the phone, through an email, or across the front desk.

When she’s not at work, Meshelle is enjoying life with her husband of 27 years, Matt, their five children, two grandsons, and two spirited maltipoos. She loves camping, hiking, BBQing, and cheering on her family at track meets, volleyball games, and musical performances. She’s also active in her church community, mentoring youth and bringing her signature warmth to every gathering.
